Trend Alert: The Chelsea Ankle Booties
Ever since Sydney decided to rain everyday for the past week, I have been longing for a guy to romantically hold a lace umbrella over me everywhere I go. Or at least for a hot, umbrella-less guy to kiss me passionately in the rain (how impractical is a lace umbrella anyway?).
However, since that can only be done in my wildest dreams, the protection of some lovely ankle boots is enough to comfort me and take the 'gloom' out of 'rain'.
Here I have compiled a list of UNDER $200's so we can all keep our legs warm and our wallets fat (Only if yours is fat to begin with). Somersaulting with glee, anyone?
(Sourced from The Iconic)
Couldn't resist adding the girly "OMG!" in pink. After all, this blog IS Candid Pink, right?
As you all may or may not know, I am not a heels person, so I've mainly chosen flat booties to share. Although the Tony Bianco is just too delicious to resist. One-inch won't hurt too bad anyway. Besides, it's good to practice strutting in them, lest I one day get spotted by a talent-hunter and gets hired to be a model. A girl needs her catwalk skillz.
But of course, unless you're the Man Repeller. Because then you'll have ninja skillz.

Forever New Hauls
Just yesterday I went with my mom and boyfriend to Castle Towers for a quick dinner (moms get bored of cooking, too), when I unexpectedly came home with two little items and a big smile on my face. See, I decided I had already burned enough holes in my wallet for the month. But since it was Thursday night, mom decided we should stay and 'hang out' around the mall after a filling dinner of Chinese. Of course, that meant shopping.
And yes, you guessed. Forever New is having their 10%-off-if-you-like-our-Facebook-page! campaign and so at the 'Your Last Chance for a Style Grab' section, I found the two items that were destined to come home with me that night: Boston Super Skinny Colored Jeans and a black Cherry Robe Coat (see picture below). Such great investments in one single night! I can already envision myself wearing the coat 10 years from now and it'll still look stylish and expensive (it's under $150!). Currently, they are probably the sole reasons I'm excited for winter to come.
(Clockwise: Cherry Robe Coat, Madeline Stripe Sweater, Boston Super Skinny Colored Jeans in Dusty Pink, Kate Ankle Boots in Fuchsia, all from Forever New)
To illustrate my level of excitement, I already have a few outfits organised around my head on how to wear them! The detachable faux fur collar on the coat can be doubled up as a fur scarf so as to evade comments of me resembling the notorious (yet perfectly stylish) Cruella de Vil. Above is one of my favorite outfits I virtually put together. Now, to snag up the knit and ankle boots.... If only I can wear heels that high... Hmm...
Forever New amazes me yet again with their perfect cutting, outstanding quality and their dedication to provide for a wide range of sizes (Forever New is the only store I know that stocks my size: AU 4). I feel that it is so underrated and overlooked compared to some of the other huge brands you see around Sydney malls. For all of you in Australia, do take advantage of Forever New's 10% off deal because it's totally worth-it and you know you need to stock up on your winter supply! Even if you don't plan to splurge, walking into their dreamy store with pastels everywhere would already make you feel heavenly. I promise.

Jo

A Pretty Teal Day
(Mango Top, ivory lace skort from overseas, YSL-inspired ring and thrifted clutch)
I can hardly believe how fast time has past since uni started. Going on an Easter break definitely helps me clean the clutters in my mind and gives me some personal time to finally update this beloved blog. Also, I need to save up for a proper DSLR camera (as opposed to constantly relying on my 8.4 megapixel iPhone camera that shows up ever so often in my noob outfit pictures- ew!), tripod and a remote control so I can finally take professional pictures! And also brush up on my editing skills! Anyone who has any helpful tutorials- shove them right this way! :)
These are some outfit pictures I took a while ago when my friend Winnie so kindly promised to let me borrow his semi-pro Nikon. I'm hoping to do more posts like this in the future so watch this space.
Fashionably yours,
Jo

Leopardness
Cotton On leopard skirt tucked into a Millers maxi skirt that was a few sizes too large for me (only because it was thrifted). As some of you may know, my mom is amazingly deft with sewing works. After fifteen minutes of working her magic onto this crumpled old fabric, this oversized skirt suddenly hung like a glove on me.Thank you mommy! I genuinely do love you :)
And guess what the first piece of item I thought of pairing it with? Animal print of course! This Cotton On dress is supposed to be flowy at the bottom half, but the body-wrapping element of the top half of this dress was perfect for pairing it with a wide maxi as it accentuates my waist, something I'm definitely proud of. The bare-back facet of this dress also adds a mysterious and sexy side to the conservativeness (Yes, I am aware of my coining of this new term) of the the long-sleeve-paired-maxi. Tucking it into my (almost-new again) maxi and Viola! This is what you get.
P.S: I probably should have taken the right picture with a transparent colored bra strap instead of my nude colored one, but well... let's just say I'm trying to make a fashion statement ;)
P.P.S: Maybe it's a sign to invest on a NuBra!

Jo
